Silhouettes
A silhouette is a dark shape and outline of someone or something visible against a lighter background. In photography it consists of your subject seen as a black shape without detail against a bright background. Photographers that like silhouette photography have a difficult job in which they must have great timing and perfect exposure settings. Most photographers use natural sunlight settings to create silhouette like photos. But, they are very critical in their technique in order to receive the dark subject outline. Here are some researched tips to a nice silhouette: never point the lens directly at the sun (if there is too much light, it will fall on the subject), if there is not enough light the background will become gray, choose a strong subject, and turn of flash (for lowest light on the subject). The fun, artistic thing about silhouettes is that they convey drama, mystery, emotion, mood, and sometimes a story. This is why they are so appealing to its audience. Silhouette photography is very popular in modern photos today.
Silhouette Ideas:
1. sunset with trees/nature
2. beach scene
3. pointe shoes in sunlight
4. two people in a sunset
5. car in the shadows
6. flowers in the sun
