Texture
Texture describes the quality of a form. Texture is the way a surface, material, or substance feels when we touch it. Texture is very important because it helps us distinguish different objects from one another. For example, a blanket has a very nice texture because it is soft but the road for instance has a ruff texture and is very rocky. Texture can be applied to photography and art in which it helps to enhance the realistic view of the photo or painting. Sometimes photographers take pictures of objects and specifically get close up on the object to make its texture visible, for the special realistic appeal. Also, in art, painters and drawers apply texture to their work to make their viewers see the authentic appeal of the subject they are working with. I personally find a work of art more interesting when texture is applied and I can actually feel the form of the object. Why do we need texture? Texture provides images with impact and creates awesome scenery. With the impact of texture, objects or subjects look clear, more defined, realistic, authentic, interesting, and detailed.
